StartUp Health is an initiative to inspire, educate, and provide resources for entrepreneurs to build sustainable health and wellness companies. StartUp Health aims to close the “Health Gap” between entrepreneurs, private investors, corporations, universities, foundations, and other stakeholders committed to accelerating meaningful health and wellness innovation. The StartUp Health initiative was announced at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Data Initiative Forum, whose goal is to encourage more private organizations to build tools and applications using the vast amounts of health data the government is now making available to the public. Former Time Warner CEO Jerry Levin, as a commitment to fostering better communities for health startups and supporting healthcare entrepreneurs, is the chairman of StartUp Health. StartUp Health partnered with Startup America, a White House initiative chaired by Former AOL CEO Steve Case to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in the U.S. Jerry Levin, as chairman of Startup Health, started the health-specific variation on Startup America, and collaborated with Steve Case and Steven Krein, CEO of OrganizedWisdom, with the mutual goal of accelerating entrepreneurialism.
